Asperger's Syndrome

If you don’t subscribe to the US Autism & Asperger Association Newsletter, I highly recommend it. It is always full of great information. Today’s announcement was pretty big. More college academic and social support with the College Autism Project” or CAP program.

I have posted a couple of times about some programs that I have found to help students once they are ready to attend college. I don’t see a list of participating colleges and universities yet so I’ll keep my eyes open for further announcements and share those as they are released. There is also no mention of cost, if there is any, or when the program will start but since this announcement just came out today, I’m sure they will provide more details later on.

The press release states:
“Through the CAP program, USAAA will align with universities and colleges to provide training and support for faculty to help best meet the needs of their students affected by autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. USAAA will also launch a safe social networking environment to allow students to communicate with fellow students facing the same challenges at many different post-secondary schools.”
